Designers are continuously challenging themselves with new innovations. From the Arts and Crafts era to the introduction of plastics in mass manufacturing, design has evolved tremendously. Today, ALVARAE takes up the new challenge of combining present technology with hands craftmanship through the use of carbon.
ALVARAE believes that carbon fibre is not just for heavy-duty use, but can be adopted into our daily lives through contemporary designs. Its products range from furniture to accessories, carrying a distinct aesthetic and forms only possible with carbon. Not only the company designs with aesthetic intentions but creates functional sculptures that inspire daily lives.
Two examples above all: the bar stools and the Panthom Chair.
The harmonisation of carbon fibre, Alcantara and wood reflects the uniqueness and characteristic of the bar stools. Personalised colour stitching will sure add an edgy touch to the atmosphere of any gathering. Perfect for contemporary kitchen or bar, or as standalone seats.
The Phantom Chair plays with strength and natural form. A large sheet of carbon fibre was intentionally placed so that the drapes were used to support and create a hollow internal structure. It only weighs 5kg while supporting up to 200kg.
